Donate

Many things in our collection have been generously donated by the local community, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation for their kindness, which forms the essence of BLoT's mission.

We really welcome donations during our operating hours, including:
- New or gently used things, tools and equipment suitable for gardening, DIY projects, cooking/food preservation, hobbies, or outdoor leisure activities.
- New consumable items (e.g., sanding belts, sharp blades) that complement our existing equipment or can benefit our members.
- We do have a wish list!
It is available to view at the BLoT or on our Facebook page, this is often updated as donations arrive.   Generally, if you would give it to a friend, thats the kind of thing we need!

Please refrain from leaving donations outside our doorway when we are not open, as they may be subject to theft, damage, or create a mess. When dropping off an item at BLoT, please inform us if you wish to retrieve it later, and we will document your contact details. However, we cannot guarantee the return of your item or its condition.

While we strive to accept most donations, there are certain items we cannot accommodate due to liability reasons.  We reserve the right to refuse, redistribute, or sell items that we cannot utilize, repair easily, or have sufficient storage space for. Any funds received will be spent to acquire items on our wish list.

Please avoid donating the following:
- Anything broken requiring significant repairs.
- Petrol-powered items.
- Paints, adhesives, liquids, or similar substances.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

If The Blackwood Library of Things is unable to take your thing, can we suggest you:
- Donate it on your local Buy Nothing Facebook group.
- Consider selling it or as a freebee on Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace.
- Donate it to the Lions shed open Saturday mornings on Shepherds Hill Road.
